Hinkley Point in Somerset is the first nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years and when fully operational will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes. During the construction phase good quality accommodation was needed to house around 1500 key workers on site.
LGSS was asked by a modular building contractor to provide the self-assemble wall, floor and ceiling infill panels to feed their assembly line which was dedicated to producing 3 storey modular accommodation and communal areas.
Reliable supply was fundamental to the tight deadlines of this major project. Around 950 steel framed modules were produced from LGSS stick build module packs.
